SLJ Prep 5, Last Session!😊😊😊

Hi guys I am here to talk to you about our last SLJ Prep Session.

For this session we had to make a goggle drawing or a presentation to put famous landmarks from our country . I have made a goggle drawing about my country (my country is Canada). I have chosen Niagara Falls and Canadian Rocky Mountains. I have put three facts beside my pictures here is my goggle drawing.

Technology Plastic Reduce!

We are Learning To... design and recreate a food package that will reduce waste.

The problem with plastic is that most of the plastic is going into to ocean and killing sea animals in the New Zealand and world wide Environment. The most conman animal that is dieing is Turtles. They are dieing because they think that the plastic bags are jellyfish and they go to it and start eating it.

So my class is planning an idea of there own about how we can reduce plastic in our lunch boxes. We had to chose what we wanted to recreate and make it. 

I am recreating a container, here is my design.

Our Stop Motion!!!

Hi guys and welcome back to my blog. I posting this blog post because on Friday last week my class did Genius Hour. This term we are doing it differently we are learning how to do all the things that people are doing for Genius Hour, on Friday we learnt how to make a Stop Motion.

We had to be a team of 2 (partners), My buddy's name is Quaid. Me and Quaid have made a Stop Motion about bullying. Quaid and I have not yet finished but here is our slide show.


 

Thinking Of The Claim!!!

Hi guys, this term we have been looking at DEBATING, and what it is. We had a go with a partner, and it was about 'why schools should wear school uniforms'.

I have been learning how to debate and how to hook people in, and how to make a strong claim.

Did you know that  your Muscular systems lets you move. It also powers up some of the of systems in your body. That why I think that the Muscular system is the most fundamental system in your body.

SLJ Practice!

This week for cyber smart we have been looking at the summer learning journey practice. Previously I blogged about where I would like to go in the world. I have chosen Canada. Anyway I have made a goggle drawing about curious kiwi and how he forgot his book, and so what my class had to do was make a drawing and put a book cover on it for a suggestions for the curious kiwi.

Harry Potter The End!!!!

We have finished our slides and our powtoons and then we had to write another blog post saying what we had to do after that. We had to do a test about the story we had to fill in the spaces that had no words. I have finished mine.

Here it is...

Sorry it is a bit hard to see but here is what it says.

It was this scar that made Harry so particularly unusual even for a wizard. This scar was the only hint of Harry's very mysterious past, of the reason he had been sitting an the Dursley's doorstep eleven years before.

At the age of one, Harry had somehow survived a curse from the greatest dark sorcerer all time, Lord Voldermort, whose name most witches and wizard still feared to speak. Harry's parents had died in Voldermorts attack, but Harry had survived with his lightning scar, and somehow- nobody understood why - Voldermorts wand had been destroyed the instant he had failed to kill Harry.

So Harry had been stood up by his dead mother's sister and her husband. He had spent ten years with the Dursley's, never asking why he kept making odd things happen without meaning to, believing the Dursley's said that he had got his scar in the car crash which had killed his parents.

And then, exactly a year ago, Hogwarts had written to Harry, and the whole story had come out. Harry had taken up his place at wizard school, where he and his scar became famous... but now the school term was over, and he was back with the Dursley's for the summer, back to being treated like a dog that had been in something smelly.

Hi, I am learning about countrys. I am learning about Canada because I think that Canada is interesting. Here is some interesting facts about Canada.

1.Canada is the second largest country in the word, right after Russia

The name of Canada's capital city is Ottawa. Ottawa is located in the northern and western hemisphere. The population of Canada is 35.9 million people.The language most spoken in Canada is French English.

Harry Potter Story!!!

 Hello guys, This term with Mrs Tabak we have been looking at Harry Potter. We had to make a power point or powtoon about Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets.

I have made a power point about it. I think that it is really cool because it tells you information about Harry Potter and how his life was in the movie.

OUR WORLD!!!

Last term we were looking at fantasy worlds and creatures. My group is Risha, Quaid and I. We made a world called Inander and we finished it last term but then we had to write a script about it and make a video after that.

When I made this I felt proud of me and my team for making something that we didn't think we could do. It was hard to make but we persevered and we made a great world.

Step By Step Drawings!!!!

On Thursdays we get to do fun stuff with our teacher Miss Tabak.
This Thursday we did step by step drawings. What we had to do is we had to find a picture with steps o it for the five year old to copy on Friday.

Systems In Our Amazing Body !!!

This term we have been looking at the 'Human Body' there are 7 systems that we learnt. We have learn't about the Endocrine System, Circulatory System, Skeletal System, Digestive System, Nervous System, Muscular System and the Respiratory System.

• The most important thing in the Circulatory System is that it sends oxygen around the body. 
• Your Endocrine system is important because it sends blood around your body. 
• Your Skeletal System is important because it protects your organs. 
• Your Digestive System is important because you need the neutrino from the food. 
• Your Nervous System sends messages to and from your brain. 
• Your Muscular System helps you move around. 
• And Your Respiratory System gives oxygen and breathes out carbon dioxide.

In each box we had to write facts about each of the System.

This term we have been looking at 'The Human Body'. My topic group is looking at three systems in the body. The Endocrine System, Circulatory System and the Skeletal system. We are looking at these system because there were things that we didn't know about the body systems.

DNA Suspects

This year I am learning about DNA for reading. Me and my group have to try and find out who stole the money from the ticket box. There was a foot print left on the floor under the cash box. The suspect that we have found is, Chris Fulton, Susan Delaney and my group foot print. Here is the photo of Chris's foot print.

Here is Susan's foot print.  I have learnt that you can get you DNA from anything like you hair your blood.

The Light

On the 1st of the 5th 2018
I wrote a story about a light with my class. It is a very interesting story about a light and how I became the employee of the year. I have used my imagination to write this story about the light and how I went all the way around the world.

Here is my story.

The Light

At my job, I have one task. Every day I go in, sit at my desk, and wait for a red light to turn on. When it does, I push a button. I repeat this process until the end of my shift. One day, I find out what the button does… I push it and everything freezes. I push it again and everything goes back to how it was. The next day I went to my job and the light did not turn red it turned green, I had never had a green light before. My boss came to my desk and said “CONGRATULATION” you are the employee of the year.

I got a photo taking and the photo got hang on the wall. Ever since then I have luck.

I am now retired and I have had a great career.

I have traveled around the world and learnt different languages like Chinese, Spanish, Samoan, Tongan and Italian. I have enjoyed my life. THE END
