🍎📝Learning Story - Healthy Living/Statistics 📝🍎

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog today I will be sharing with you my learning story form HUR6 Healthy Lifestyles. Healthy Lifestyles was about obviously about living healthy but one side was Statistics. My favourite part about this Hurumanu was the Statistics because I love math but I liked doing Healthy Living too.

Here is my Learning Story:....

My Learning Story
Hurumanu: HUR6 Healthy Lifestyles
Name: Tasharn Rich

Reflection:
Give at least three examples in each of the boxes below.
What We Did:
  • A DLO about how sleep affects your body
  • Lunch Box Challenge
  • Looked at/ Analyzed covid/smoking data
What I Learned:
  • What a healthy diet should be
  • How to calculate Mean, Median, Range and Mode using google sheets
  • We also learnt about graphs
My Favourite Part:
  • One was when we made our DLO’s about Sleep and how much hours a teenager needs each night
  • I also enjoyed playing Prodigy and banqer for the Statistics side
  • But my favourite part of it was when we did our lunchbox challenge because we got to search through shops online and see how much the prices are.
My Next Steps:
  • My next step for statistics is probably to make different types of graphs for different data.
  • I also need to work on focusing on my work
  • Last things would probably have to be to try harder things because I need to challenge myself.

Reflection:
Give at least three examples in each of the boxes below.
What We Did:
  • Parihaka was the first thing that we did.
  • Gold Rush was the third thing we did that I really enjoyed.
  • WW1 - Anzac + Women at war was the fourth thing we did.
  • 6 Photos was the second thing we did.
What I Learned:
  • Parihaka - Was that Parihaka started in 1866 and whenever someone would visit the kids would come out with bread and offer it to them.
  • WW1 - When WW1 started all the women had to take the jobs that men usually do eg. Truck driving - packing the trucks and unpacking them.
  • Gold Rush - People from different countries came from their land to NZ to find gold. Gold was found in a lot of places.
My Favourite Part:
  • Was researching information for the Gold Rush and doing the sheet for it.
  • Another thing I enjoyed was making the DLO’s for everything.
  • The last thing I enjoyed was working with my friends.
My Next Steps:
  • To stay focused on my work.
  • Work with new people that I don't usually work with.
  • Only talk to people about the work we are doing.

This term for Hurumanu my class has been doing Music for one of our modules this term.  For music this term we are learning how to make our own piece of music. At the start of the term we had to make a sound of music in a circle.  Everyone in the circle had to make a sound that they wanted. In the end of it we had another go but with more people.

The second time we did it there was more people and got to noise. So there was one group that if they wanted to play with there hands your body parts to make noise went outside. The other group stayed inside as they were the ones that wanted to make noise with there mouth.

Another one of the activities that we did was when we had to try guess the instruments that were shown on the board, I really enjoyed guessing what they were.

Another activity that I enjoyed doing is when we had wrote down a solo artist and a band. The solo and band artist had to be from New Zealand, so my solo artist was Stan Walker. I chose him because he is a good singer and one of my favourites. My band was Six60 because again they are one of my favourites they are good at singing.

My goal for Hurumanu was to make sure that I talk to people in my group and make sure that I include myself in what they are doing.

Something that was really challenging for me was when we had to make our own song, because it we had to think about what was going to fit into the song and set a theme from the sound to our song.
