Stitches!

For reading this term we have been looking at is woman rights in voting and in war.
One of the stories that we have read and are talking about is Stitches. Stitches is about a girl that like to sew, there is some more information in the questions and answer below.


Question 1: What was the story about?
I think that the story is about a family of 7 that like to make clothing and likes to sew. I also think that it is a story about a girl named that also likes to sew. I know this because she gets a sewing machine
from her dad. I also know that May like to make dresses in her room. She can make a whole lot of them, that is probably why her dad bought her a new sewing machine. 

Question 2: May is 13, how is her life different compared to yours?
Her life is different compared to mine because she is 13 and I am 11 and she has much more opportunity other than me. Also she sews clothes for her family mostly dresses and I dont know how to sew. Also because she made a big scarifies for dropping out of school to work with her mum.

Question 3: What sacrifices do you think she made in the story? Why did she make those?
One of the scarifies that she made is leaving school to be with her mum. Her mum was very happy to hear that her daughter was coming to help her sew clothes. I think that that the only sacrifice that she made.

Ki O Rahi!

This term for PE were are learning how to play Ki O Rahi.
For this term PE is called working together as one. My whole class
had to make a presentation for how to play Ki O Rahi.

How to play Ki-O-Rahi:

Ki O Rahi Vocabulary 

Step 1: The first thing you need to do in a game of Ki-O-Rahi
you have to make 2 teams of 7 .

Step 2: Make the playing field for the game. In the playing field
you will need:

*Check vocabulary for the meaning of these words

1. Tupu
2. 7 Pou
3. Ki

Step 3: At the start of a game you have to throw the ball in the
air and both players have to try and hit it.

Step 4: At half time both teams swap there positions from
*Taniwha to *Kioma And *Kioma to *Taniwha.

Helpful tips:

Every time Kioma hits the *pou that is a point but to gain those
points you need to touch down.

When Taniwha has the ball the need to have 4 people in the
zone to be able to shot. You are able to have as many turns as
you want.

The winning team is the one with the most points.

What are the greatest inventions of all time? Why?

1. Shower🚿🚿🚿
I think one of the greatest invention is a shower because you can clean yourself in the shower if you have finished sports or something messy.

2. Cell Phone📳📳📳
I think that a cell phone is important because you can communicate with people to know where they are or if your far away you cant contact them.

3. Cutlery 🔪🔪🔪
I think that cutlery is important to have in the world because if we didn't we wouldn't have anything to cut with or we would have to eat with our fingers.

4. Clothing 👕👖👗👢
I think that is is really important to have clothes other wise we would be naked and we would get cold at night.

5. Houses 🏠🏠🏠
I think houses are important because you live in them and they keep you warm and safe at home.

Hi and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking to you about what we are doing In hurumanu Music. For music we had to write down on a piece of paper a New Zealand Band. On one piece of paper we had do a New Zealand Singner that sings most of their songs alone.

After we finished that we had to transfer all the information onto a DLO. I have made one but I can't put it on my blog. Here are a couple of photos of my work.

How I feel about spelling.

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I will be talking to you about how I feel about spelling. What I like about it and what I dislike about it.

Things that I found like in spelling is the task that we have to do because you get to do things by yourself and because the tasks we do we get to pick.

Things that I dislike is nothing because I like to do spelling .

Last Day Of Term 1

Kia Ora, and welcome back to my blog. Today this blog post is about the first term at school and how I felt coming to high school. I will be answering 6 questions about school so far in term 1.

1. What has been your favourite part of this term?
My favourite part of this term is making new friends and completing 3 tasks at wood work. I also liked when my teachers said that I have been great in class and I have great people in my class that help me.

2. Why is that your best memory?
That is my best memory because I like to meet new people and have nice thing been said about me.

3. What has been the most interesting thing to do or learn about?
The most interesting thing I have learnt or done this term is learning about change and challengers. In change in challengers we had to learn about  acting. I didn't like to act but I had to and some of the people I worked with I didn't know some of them really well.

4.What has been a challenge for you?
This term I haven't had a challenge.

5. How have you shown COMMITMENT this term?
I have shown commitment this term when we vs Ts for the Mt cup and when I was picked to be an ambassador.

6. What do you look forward to next term.
Next term I look forward to meeting new friends.

Our new Hurumanu, PE

Kia Ora, and welcome back to my blog. For PE we are looking at the history of of games. One of the games that we were looking at playing is Kia-O-Rahi. But before we get into playing Kia-O-Rahi we start of with games that are much easier. The first game we played was Bench-ball on Tuesday, after that on Friday we played this game called kick the long-ball. Let's get started.

Bench-ball is a game where you can have as much people in your team as you like, but you have to have the same amount of people on each side. The aim of the game is to get all your team onto the bench as one is already up on the bench catching the ball. In our game of bench ball you are not aloud to hit the ball out of someone's hands but you can hit it when they throw it.

On Friday that week we also played Kick the long-ball. In kick the long ball there are teams of 2 one team kicking and the other is fielding. I not into the other team becuase they didn't have enough players. Once we got 5 players out we got to kick the ball.
