Kapa Haka

Today I am going to be talking to you about one of my favorite Hurumanus that I do at school. I will be talking to you about Kapa Haka. My Kapa Haka group does Kapa Haka after our hui but today we didn't get t because there is a big performance going on in the auditorium. I really like Kapa Haka because it is about my culture and because it is a great chance to learn new things.

CIP blog post

Today for CIP I have made a Drawing about a coloring competition. The coloring competition is for 3 schools or over the school holidays. The three schools that we be competing is St Bernadettes, Gilberthorpes School & Hornby Primary School. We have chosen these schools because those three schools are close to ours. There will be 3 coloring competition for 3 different age groups.

Climate Change


Aim: To look at the causes of climate change and how to prevent it.


As you watch the video answer these questions:

What is our greatest threat in thousands of years?

How do we see climate change affecting the globe?
  1. Floods  
  2. Extreme Storms
  3. Strong Winds
  4. Heat Waves 


What is needed to change history?
Good climate.

Is climate change a man made distaste?
Yes it is a man made disaster.

Dramatic action must be made in the next 10 years to change it?

Why is our climate changing?
Our world is getting hotter.

What is causing the warming trend of the 
Something to do with the warmth around the earth.

What is the main problem?
Climate Change.

What are examples of these?
 Coal, Oil and Gas. 

Burning fossil fuels releases what gas?
Carbon Dioxide.  

How much hotter now is our world?
1 degree hotter.

What do we call this global warming?
Climate Change.

How is this affecting creatures / animals like bats?
When they were adapting to heat they then died because it was to hot.

What percentage of species are near extinction?
8%

How could this effect the world ecosystems?
Makes things extremely hot.

What global change was seen and recording breaking last year?
That the heat has gotten hotter by one degree. 

How is climate change affecting our weather systems?
1. Super Storms
2. Extreme Wind
3. Flooding

What will happen if the ice melts in Antarctica and the Arctic?
All the cold water that melts go into the ocean.

How does this affect people?
It effect were people live and effect how people live without there families if they do die in the floods.

What other things affect oceans change?
The animals that live in the ocean could die because of the heat.

What does to much heat do to coral?
They go all brown and once they change that colour they are more likely to be dead.

Why did some industries not want to stop burning fossil fuels?
Because they are getting lots of money and don't want to stop getting paid money.



Investigation

Write a definition, upload an image and list where these fossil fuels are mined.
