S L J Practice. Country Videos NZ & Canada 😀😀😀

Hi guys and welcome back to my blog. I have been doing some activities for Summer Learning Journey. This activity is only a prep for it. 

The activity that we have been told to do is watch a video from our countries and write a blog post about it. We have to rate it out of 5 starts and write a good thing and a bad thing about it. My country is Canada.

I have watched my video and rated it 3 because at one stage the picture was blurry. 

One thing that I didn't like was that it was blurry.

One thing that I did like was that they spoke English and that I could understand them.

.This video is a reward challenge for Survivor NZ. Here is what they have to do they have to go out into the water and get a sand bag from a buoy and come back and put it on a plank, then jump on the plank and then try and get it into a net.

Armistice Day!!!

Hello and welcome back to my blog,

I will be talking to you guys about Armistice Day. My class and I have been looking at video that have information on them telling us. We would have look out for key things that stand out to use about Armistice Day. We have made a table and put information on it about Armistice Day. 

We have been told to share three things that stand out to us. Here is my three things...

1. That 98,950 people served but 41,00 came back injured. Also there was death of 18,058 people.

2. On the fourth of August 1914  Britain declared war.

3. Men from NZ joined the war as proud subject of the British empire.

PAT Test Preparation!!!

W.A.L.T prepare for our end of year PAT Comprehension and STAR Test.

Hi, I will be talking to you about PAT Test and what they are about.

A PAT Test is were you have to do 3 test's  Maths, Reading, Comprehension and the biggest one is the STAR Test. What you have to do for all of them is that you have to go onto a site or write on paper. Sometimes when you get a test on paper you have to circle a word that the picture is, or when you go onto a site you have to click the right answer and go onto the next question.

My goal is to get and stanine bigger then what I got for all of them. To improve my score I will focus on myself and to re-read my work and just click the first answer I see.

The Cloud Story

It was a sunny day with the sun shining on the sea there was a friendly cloud. But it was no ordinary friendly  cloud, it was a cloud with it own path. Not the wind blowing it, it was himself taking him into different places. Then he saw himself in a  reflecting  it was like he was delighted to see himself again. I followed him till he got to the traffic light’s. He went to the traffic light and started changing colors like the colors of the traffic light’s.

He was turning green, orange and red it was like he was like it was magical. So I told my mum she thought it was just using my imagination but I think it was not my imagination. So I show all my friends but there mum says the same things.

But then one day the cloud came to my window I told my mum. We both rush back up to my room “See mum I told you there was a cloud.” Suddenly the cloud see some trouble so he race down to where the fire was like a car going full speed. The fire was like red on the sun. So the cloud went down and started to rain water on the fire it was like the cloud was being helpful and caring to help the beautiful environment. I went to him and asked if he could be my friend.

The cloud flew passed my bedroom window like a paper plane. “Hello cloud.”

He mumbles back to me, ”Hello.”

After he had helped my town he went back to his home.  I am going to miss that cloud.

Last year I made a story for ANZAC day, but I didn't get to publish it so I am publishing it so use can all see it. Here is my story. Please don't forget to leave a Helpful, Positive and Thoughtful comment, Bye!

It was one terrifying day at war, on the 10th of December 1975. “Get ready men. Are you ready for war.” “yes sir” Yelled all the soldiers. So they got off the plane and started running for their lives and their country. I could see some terrifying stuff in the army, people getting shot, notes in the sky, smoke from the tanks, dust and explosions.

I can hear scary, spooky and killing sounds like people fuling to the ground, and soldiers stepping in puddles and soldiers yelling “help help.” Then I could see my big brother Taisyn he was 28 before he went to war. We surprise him with a  birthday every single year because His friend and him were the only ones that survived the war. When the war had finished I smelt Smoke, dried blood and freedom. I smelt freedom because there was 2 of as who survived.

I feel sad, scared and  terrified. My family got killed thats when I became strong and survived the war. When  the war was over the soldiers got back on the plane and went back home. I was glad that I survived war because I mest my family and I wanted to see them it was the day of my birthday the day I came back so they put a birthday party for me.

It was my 29th birthday today in 1940 the 11 of october.

I told my family about the war. They were glad that I was still alive.

My Tongan Diorama!

This term we have been building Diorama's. We are building Diorama's because we were going to show what a Cyclone would do to it. The teacher that has been helping us with our Diorama's is Miss Wilson. Next term we will be doing a presentation about cyclones and what they do.

We have made ours with cotton wool, clay, card and coloured paper. My partners were Risha and Tilsa, they helped me do the trees and building it.

Canterbury Swim School

On October the 13'th

My school toke swimming lessons. We toke swimming lessons so that if we get stuck in the sea we would know what to do. I am in the small pool because I don't have much experince swimming. 

My Instructors name is Jhrnyelle. She teaches my group what to do. Every lesson we have to do Back Stroke, Free Style, Dolphin Dive and The Worm, is were you have to put your arms by your side and wiggle like a worm.

Partly Cloudy

This week we have been working on a story about a cloud. That acts like he is a real human. Here is my story.

One nice calm after noon with the yellow red and orange sun fading down there were black and white birds with stick legs and long necks and  black round eyes were flying past with white bags hooked onto their long yellow beak heading to the city.

One of the birds dived down and put the white bag on the window sill and unwrapped it the lady’s new baby was here and other one delivered a bag with kittens in it and another one delivered a puppy. All the birds have delivered the stuff they went up high in the sky and went to some fluffy clouds but they weren't just any clouds they were fluffy giants!.

The birds landed on the clouds the giant were on after all that a bird that was gray and looked like he just got shot with white thunder. He landed on a gray cloud that was sad when the giant saw sight of the bird and got happy and squeezed the life out of him the gray bird and then made something what he made was a dark green chomping crocodile then wrapped the dark green saw sight of the bird and got happy and squeezed the life out of him the gray bird and then made something what he made was a dark green chomping crocodile then wrapped the dark green crocodile and gave it to the bird the bird looked anxious to grab hold of it.

But he knew he has to do it he Tartuffe up and took it out of it hands and took a deep breath in but the crocodile bit the bird in the head! The bird yelled ‘’OUCH!’’ And flew away mean while he was doing that task the gray cloud looked around and saw all the other white clouds having fun with their birds and making cute things. The gray cloud said .sigh.

The gray bird came back with feathers falling of his gray body the gray cloud picked them up and put them on his head but they fell off. He looked up and saw a white cloud and flew up there the gray clouds heart had just shattered into a million pieces he looked up and saw the white cloud giving the gray bird a white bag. The gray cloud got so mad that he turd to black and white thunder came out then he stopped and cried it was raining under him suddenly the bird came back the cloud stopped but he was sniffing the bird unwrapped the white bag and put on a rugby helmet and a rugby chest plate on the cloud smiled and squeezed the life out  of him.

My Love Story

I sat at the brown soft piano as my fingers took control of all the memories that I was felling. It was a very emotional time. I was shivering like a leaf as I crumbled. I was broken.

I was playing notes of memories that me and my wife use to play before she past away. She couldn’t be saved she had a terrible tumor cancer there was no cure for a women her age, I was broken with nothing. Then I heard the lovely very beautiful notes of my wife playing the piano. Jenny grabbed my hand and started to play a note with me. My love that was shredded like paper, she kissed me and left like there was nothing more to see.

After that another memories floated by and made my shaking fingers change the tune. I remembered another memory as my eyes started to water. It was my brother he was in war. He looked at me with a big tear, he walked out of the crumbling trench and tried to shot the other group with a shot like lightning, but he got shot in a flash. I felt scared because 2 of my loved ones are gone.

I was scrambled. Then I remembered that I had a wonderful son, his name is Jeremiah. I remembered that I had brought a toy horse for him on his birthday. He loved it his dreams had come true. He put the silky horse down and sat on the warm chair. He finished my sad song with a lovely note, and smiled at me.

My Production

This term we have been focusing on New Zealand Music Month. We have been practicing for week so that we could get it perfect. We had to perform it on the 30th of August & 31st of August,  I felt nervous because there was going to be about 340 people there. Last night we had our first performance and we are having another performance tonight.

We had to try and think of song from before 2001 that are made by New Zealand Artist's. I did Slice Of Heaven by Dave Dobbyn. In my group there was Brooke, Shanarnia, Dominique, Mikayla, Jasper, Sam, Sage, Corbyn and I.

I was in 6 roles, I had to do choir, Maui And His Three Brothers, Ukulele, Slice Of Haven, Kapa Haka and Why doe's love do this to me? 

The other classes were doing trash to fash, TV started mashed together, Shadow 

puppet's,

My Somalia Story

W.A.L.T...write a narrative through the eyes of one of the crew, or robots or the pirates.

This week we have been writing about Somalia and if we were the captain on the ship or the captain on the ship a crew I chose to be the captain.

It was one sunny day on the shimmering water of Somalia. It was nice and peaceful day until some pirates from another ship came along.

Then my personal assistant heard something that sounded like foot step.

“WHAT WAS THAT!”

“It is the other pirates.”

Nobody knew about it until the pirates went into the kitchen, into the bottom of the ship, and the other captain from the other ship came to me and said

“ Do you know how I am.”

“Who.”

“The new captain!”

Then the crew from the other ship came down to these containers. After that they saw something it looked like robots. The robots helped me. They chucked them over board. One of them said”BOO” and that scared half of them away. Once they had scared all of them away they went back into the container and always keeps them safe

My Fraction Slide Week One

This week my math class has been looking at fraction and how to add and organize them into biggest to smallest and smallest to biggest. This is my slide I had to try and think which is bigger and which is smaller. Then we had to add fractions like 1/2+1/2 that equals 1 hole if you did not know already.

Crop Circles Awesome Creation

W.A.L.T... Create a model that shares something we have learnt about our mystery.

This term we have been learning about mystery. The choices were Loch Ness Monster, Crop Circles, Easter Island, Bermuda Triangle, Roswell, The Power Of The Pyramids, Big Foot, Lost City Of Atlantis. My topic was Crop Circles my group had to make a model of a crop circle and teach people that weren't in our group something. My group was Sophia Brooke and Me. Here is our Model. I felt really glad that I got it done in time for shared lunch.

Kia Ora, Good morning ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. My name is Tasharn and today I am going to talk to use about my mystery. Have you ever heard of Crop Circles?

Do you know what or how Crop Circles are made?

Is it true that Aliens make Crop Circles?

Well  hold your hat’s and strap yourself in, because I am going to solve this mystery for you.

Have you ever thought that Crop Circles were made by aliens?

Have you ever been to a corn field and thought why is this big circle around me?

I believe that crop circles aren't made by aliens they are just a hoax made by humans.

You should believe that crop circles aren't real because aliens aren't real, it is all just a hoax.

Well guess what, I’m going to tell you how I solved this mystery of the Crop Circles because I have evidence to prove it.  

I got all my information of sites and youtube videos. First I want to talk to you about the two men who made crop circles.

Did you know that two men? Doug Bower and Dave Chorley made a plank of wood then tied rope to it then made the corn or wheat go flat. It all started in September 1991 that Dave Chorley and Doug Bower  started to make crop circles. They were making crop circles for 13 years then they owned up to making crop circles and that it was all just a hoax. Now I am going to talk to you about aliens and if they made them.

Some people believe that aliens make crop circles. Some people say that the caught aliens on tape and that they watched them make them. But some say that they hear noises that sound like aliens making them. Next I am going to talk to you about UFO’s and if they made them.

Did you know that people believe that UFO’s make crop circles how silly is that. Crop Circles are not made by UFO’s they were made by humans. But some people believe that they were made by UFO’S and aliens. Then it comes to me to talk about tornado’s and if they made them.

Do you know what a tornado is?

Do you think that crop circles are made by tornados and the way they spin makes them. There was about 5-8 crop circles made by tornados. Is it true that tornadoes made crop circles? Tornadoes, wind gusts and plasma may have accounted for some of the simple circles but these explanations do not hold up when some of the extremely complex designs are viewed and Time to talk about Humans and if they made them.

So do you think that crop circles are made by humans. people believe that they were made by UFO’s, Aliens, Tornadoes and the two men who made are hoaxes.

So now do you think that Crop Circles are made by Aliens, Tornadoes, UFO’s, and the two men Doug Bower and Dave Chorley made them. No it was Humans Doug Bower and Dave Chorley made then with a plank of wood and some rope to push down the stalk of corn down.

This comes to the condition that crop circles are not made by UFO’s, Aliens, Tornados and the two men who made are hoaxes. They are made by Humans Doug Bower and Dave Bower. Mystery solved over and done with.
