Art-Manaakitanga

For Hurumanu this term we have been looking at Art. In art we have been making stop motions. This is our last lesson because on Thursday we only have school for 3 periods. Anyway, for Art my group (Bryce, Shane, Alex and I) made a clay animation. Our clay animation is about someone getting bullied and then someone comes in and solves the problem.

Here is my Learning story:

The first thing we did is we drew pictures in different angles. We did this because we needed to know what the angles were called because we need to use different angles in our stop motions. The second thing we did was we made a storyboard about something. My group (Shane, Bryce, Alex and I) made one about kindness. We made one person get bullied and then someone else came in and helped the situation.

I learned how to draw things quickly without being so neat, because your drawings don’t have to be as neat as you want them to be. How to work with a group of people that I don’t know that well and that I hangout with that much. I also learnt different types of angles you can use in an animation.

I really enjoyed working with new people and making claymations. I also really enjoyed when the whole group help and got it done. I loved this experience because I learned how to draw properly.

One thing that I found difficult was when I didn’t really understand what I was doing and when half of my team wasn’t there. It made it difficult when my team wasn’t there because we needed everyone's help and because it is better to work in a group of people.
