Reading - Benny

Kia Ora, and welcome back to my blog I will be posting about what I did at reading today. For reading I red a book called Benny. Benny is about a boy that is way different to his friend Benny, and the weekend ends they differently to normal weekends. Here is some more information about the story:...

What are some of the differences between Benny and his friend?
1. Benny is taller
2. Benny is built and his friend isn't
3. Benny likes to play Rugby/sport but his friend would rather watch.

How does Benny's friend feel about his new house?
I dont think he likes it because in the story it says that Benny friend misses him and hasn't seen him in ages but if he still lived down the road he would see him everyday.

How did the boys mother feel about the incident? Do you think her actions a justified? Why/Why not?
I think yes because his mother had to help him swim in the start and that's why Benny's friend didn't want to do it.

What is the author's purpose in writing this text? How do you know?
I think the purpose is that you shouldn't force people into things they dont want to do because it could end really bad for the person pushing or the person they are going to injure. I know this because in the story it says that Benny's friend doesn't want t do it because the boy didn't know how to swim and the boy was already under them.

What themes are explored in this text?
I think that outdoors and nature is explored because they always talk about kayaking in the lake and being outdoors.

Thank you for reading my blog, BYE!!!
